Please feel free to enjoy these images as you wish, however, they are provided for demonstration purposes only. Please do not distribute.
Due to storage limitations on this disk, no prepress or desktop publishing images are provided. The 640 x 480 images contained here are designed for multimedia use (screen display and video), and do not have a high enough resolution for print. MUCH HIGHER RESOLUTION IMAGES COME ON THE CD-ROM.
The seamless tiles are designed to be mapped onto objects in 3D rendering programs. For every seamless image, we have provided a bump map. A bump map is a gray-scale image that gives 3D surface information to the rendering application. If you look closely at any wood surface, you will see that there are shallow dips and bumps within the grain. Bump maps allow you to duplicate these surface irregularities. Of the gray scale information, light tones are translated into bumps and dark tones into dips. Highlights, shadows and even reflections are applied accordingly. Additional bump maps are provided for varnished wood effects. Not every 3D rendering program can import bump maps. Please check your user’s manual.
